Austin, Texas-based electronic rock and darkwave project Mass Minor has released its new single, “Nowhere Now,” via Metropolis Records. The track, which debuted on July 31, 2026, serves as the lead single from the project’s upcoming sophomore studio album, Beyond the Edge of Reason, scheduled for release in early November 2026.
Led by multi-instrumentalist Andrew J. Martin, Jr., Mass Minor incorporates atmospheric synthesizers, driving guitars, and post-punk elements. Martin founded the project in Austin, releasing the debut album Become Each Other in 2020. Since then, the act has established a presence in the dark alternative scene through regional radio support, appearances at South by Southwest (SXSW), and supporting performances alongside genre notables such as Twin Tribes, Ultra Sunn, TRAITRS, and Urban Heat.
Musical Direction and Themes
“Nowhere Now” marks the project’s first official release under Metropolis Records. The track features a production characterized by pulsating synth-bass, distorted bass guitar, and prominent electric guitar arrangements that build in intensity. Lyrically, the song addresses themes of self-reflection and personal transformation.
According to Martin, the single explores the internal conflict between personal identity and external expectations. The narrative is anchored by the recurring lyrical question: “What if what we’re fighting for was never really ours to hold?”

“Nowhere Now” is currently available for streaming and purchase on digital platforms, including Bandcamp. The forthcoming album, Beyond the Edge of Reason, will continue to expand on these thematic and musical concepts upon its release in November.
