Kent-based violist, singer, and experimental music composer Sophie Sirota has released her new remix album, Pressure Drop Remixed, on September 10, 2026, through the Coastal Electronauts label. The record serves as a reimagining of her debut album, Pressure Drop, which was originally released in late 2025.
The ten-track collection features contributions from a diverse selection of musicians and producers with whom Sirota has collaborated during her career. Prominent contributors include legendary producer Youth (who provided two remixes), drum and bass pioneers 4hero, 3Head, and Shape Navigator.
Lead Single and Video Release
Coinciding with the album release, the track “If I Wrote A Song Would You Like It? (Shape Navigator Remix)” has been serviced as a release-day single. The track is accompanied by a music video edited by visual artist @diz_qo, who also produced videos for the album’s previously released singles, “50:50 Pure Trance (Youth Remix)” and “Mood (4hero Remix).”
Shape Navigator, the alias of producer Peter Coyte, co-runs the Whitstable-based monthly meet-up sessions and record label Coastal Electronauts alongside Sirota. Coyte also engineered the mixing and mastering for the original 2025 Pressure Drop LP.
Artist Background and Collaborative Approach
Sirota is a classically trained violist, arranger, and composer with an extensive career as a session and live musician. Her prior credits include collaborations with artists such as Paul Weller, Kim Deal, Tindersticks, Beth Orton, Ed Harcourt, and Gabrielle.
For this remix project, Sirota allowed each contributor full creative discretion, offering no specific stylistic direction. The tracklist also highlights emerging electronic producers from the Electronic Music Open Mic (EMOM) movement, a scene Sirota credits with helping foster her solo career.
