Electronic music project EVA X has released a new single titled ‘Dance In Shadows’ and announced the upcoming release of her second studio album, TURBOPINK, scheduled for November 6, 2026. Distributed through Moon Coil Media, the single serves as the primary preview for the forthcoming full-length record.
The Creative Concept Behind the Single
‘Dance In Shadows’ was written by EVA X creator Gaby Gustafson. According to Gustafson, the track was composed in memory of a former colleague who passed away from cancer. Rather than writing a traditional somber piece, Gustafson sought to capture an upbeat tone as a tribute. The song blends elements of synthpop, metal, J-pop, and 1980s pop music. The release also features a B-side track, which includes a breakbeat remix of the title song by electronic artist Stoneburner.
Artist Background and Context
EVA X began as a solo bedroom production project in 2019, initially developing a following within the goth and industrial music scenes by merging synthwave, power pop, and metal influences. In 2022, EVA X released the debut album I Dream Of A Reality via Distortion Productions. Following several years of touring as a live band, which included performances at alternative and electronic events such as Dark Force Fest in New Jersey, Mechanismus Festival in Seattle, and Terminus in Calgary, the project returns with a full band lineup for the release of TURBOPINK.
