British electronic and industrial group Portion Control has issued “H.O.T. Matter (Demo version 1),” the third single from their upcoming archival box set, 1983-86 – Hit The Pulse to Purge…. The collection is scheduled for release on August 14, 2026, via Artoffact Records across 4xCD, digital, and limited edition vinyl formats.
Archival Box Set Details
The 77-track collection covers the group’s output during the mid-1980s, including their 1983 mini-LP Hit The Pulse, full-length albums ..Step Forward (1984) and Psycho Bod Saves The World (1986), as well as original 12-inch singles and the 1986 Purge EP. The set also includes B-sides, compilation tracks, demos, and two concert recordings from 1984 and 1985. All tracks have been remastered by Paul Lavigne at Kontrast Mastering, featuring 16 previously unreleased tracks and 12 appearing on CD and digital formats for the first time.
The physical 4xCD set comes packaged in a five-panel ecopak featuring a 24-page booklet with archive photographs and design by Stefan Alt. A limited edition red vinyl LP containing 10 selected tracks will also be released.
