Sweden’s psychedelic conscience, Twice a Man, have announced two albums for release through Dependent on 20 November 2026.
The first, Reveries Before Silence, is a new studio work. The second, The Marine Trilogy, returns to rare recordings from the middle of the 1980s, gathering material previously issued on cassette and twelve-inch singles.
Reveries Before Silence is presented as an answer to social division and ecological danger. Twice a Man have never been inclined to separate the natural world from the electronic one. “Desert Snow” is the first track made available from the album, and it is an epic soundscape that spreads like smoke from a Canadian wildfire.
It is about time that we had a society fit for humans. The destruction of the natural environment in the search for profits, and the concentration of wealth and power in the hands of a vanishingly small minority are part of the same process. Twice a Man give voice to a planet scraped and scarred by greed. Their consciousness may be cosmic, but their message couldn’t be more real. Karl Gasleben says:
This song reflects on the world we live in today while reminding us that hope and positive thinking can still be a path toward unity. As modern societies continue to challenge our sense of human connection, we need to find what brings us together rather than what drives us apart. If we can discover a common voice that leads us away from war, polarisation, and the climate crisis, there is still a future worth believing in. We want to be able to look our children in the eyes and speak about tomorrow with honesty, responsibility, and hope. ‘Desert Snow’ is our contribution to that conversation – a song that carries both reflection and faith in a better future.
A deluxe edition adds four instrumental pieces under the title, Ethereal Movements: “Incredible Journeys,” “There Are Flowers to Grow,” “In a Coloured Cloud” and “A Foggy Slumber.” It will be available as a 36-page, two-CD artbook designed by Twice a Man and limited to 500 copies.
The second release looks back to the period between 1984 and 1986. The Marine Trilogy brings together the cassette Waterland and the twelve-inch releases Aqua Marine Drum and “Across the Ocean.” The recordings have been remastered and will appear on CD for the first time.
Its ten tracks include “Dolphins,” “In the Eye of the Whale,” “Seaweed Level,” “Sorrow (Long Version)” and “Only Relief.” A version of “Across the Ocean” is available to hear now. The collection comes in a 48-page, two-CD artbook designed by Nico J. – again in an edition of 500 copies.
The two releases face in opposite directions without breaking the current. One extends Twice a Man’s long engagement with damaged environments and human folly; the other recovers a time when the sea already served as their instrument, setting…and warning.
