Ellen Benediktson Announces New EP “WID4L”

Swedish alt-pop artist Ellen Benediktson has announced the upcoming release of her sophomore EP, titled WID4L. Scheduled for release on May 15, 2026, the digital EP will be issued through the Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art with distribution handled by Virgin Music Group.

EP Concept and Musical Direction

Following her debut EP, Good Girl, WID4L sees Benediktson expanding her sound within the alt-pop and dance-pop genres. The project was created alongside her established production team and explores themes of emotional impulsivity, obsession, and self-sabotage. The visual aesthetic accompanying the release is described as a pop-gothic dreamscape, utilizing striking imagery to complement the themes of the tracks.

The EP features five tracks in total, with “Only Lovers” serving as the project’s focus track. According to the release details, the song presents a bittersweet narrative exploring the more intense and challenging dynamics of love.

About Ellen Benediktson

Benediktson first entered the music industry at age 18, performing the song “Songbird” in Sweden’s national Eurovision selection process, Melodifestivalen, where she reached the final. She has since participated in the competition two additional times. Ahead of the EP release, Benediktson performed showcase sets at the Tallinn Music Week conference in April 2026 and is currently preparing for upcoming tour dates.
