The Wedding Present and record label Scopitones have announced details regarding their upcoming annual festival, At The Edge Of The Sea XVI, as well as dates for an autumn UK tour titled An Evening With David Lewis Gedge.
Festival Details and Live Streaming
The 16th edition of the band’s annual boutique festival takes place in August. The opening night features The Wedding Present performing a 35th-anniversary set dedicated to their 1991 album Seamonsters, accompanied by support act The Tubs. The following day includes a headlining set spanning the band’s discography, alongside performances from Cinerama, Prolapse, Blueboy, Pete Fij, Rachael Wood, and Year Of The Bear.
With in-person festival tickets sold out, organizers confirmed that a live stream will be accessible to viewers from August 8 through August 31, 2026.
An Evening With David Lewis Gedge Tour
In September 2026, frontman David Lewis Gedge will embark on a specialized UK tour to mark the publication of the third volume of his autobiography. The event format combines literary discussions with live music performances.
Each date on the tour schedule includes:
- An opening acoustic set by Darren Hayman.
- An interview and audience Q&A with David Lewis Gedge, co-writer Terry de Castro, and illustrator Lee Thacker.
- A semi-acoustic music performance featuring Gedge, de Castro, and guitarist Rachael Wood.
The tour stops include dates in Edinburgh, Sunderland, Hebden Bridge, Wolverhampton, Brighton, Portsmouth, and London. Gedge will also host a free book-signing session in Stretford, Manchester on September 11.
Upcoming Publications and Releases
Volume Three of Gedge’s autobiography is scheduled for release on August 28, 2026. Additionally, Wedding Present guitarist Rachael Wood will release her solo album, It’s Not The End Of The World, on August 7, 2026.
