Sound artist and musician Olivia Louvel has announced details for two upcoming creative residencies scheduled for autumn 2026, alongside an update regarding the digital distribution of her music catalogue.
Brighton Residency: ‘Making Space’
Louvel will first undertake a “Making Space” residency at the Fabrica gallery in Brighton. During this period, she will develop a multi-channel sound-art installation structured around seven voice sculptures and seven audio channels. The work-in-progress installation investigates themes surrounding how female bodies are challenged. Intimate public viewings of the work-in-progress are scheduled to take place on September 16 and 17, 2026, with limited visitor capacity.
Vienna Residency: Tonspur Passageway
In November 2026, Louvel will transition to Vienna for an artist residency at the MuseumsQuartier (MQ). This project involves designing a site-specific sound-art environment engineered for the historical architecture of the Tonspur Passageway. The upcoming installation will utilize an integrated eight-channel sound diffusion system and will be accompanied by a series of visual artworks exhibited in the passageway’s media lightbox. This project is curated by Kersten Glandien of Sound Art Brighton.
Catalogue Distribution Changes
In addition to her residency program, Louvel confirmed she has initiated the migration of her music catalogue from AWAL to digital distributor TuneCore. As a result of this transition, she has opted to remove her discography from the Spotify streaming platform, redirecting digital listeners to Apple Music.
