Gothic industrial duo DEATH BY LOVE has officially released their latest single, “Królowa Świata” (translated as “Queen of the World”), accompanied by a new music video. This release marks the first Polish-language track from the project, which consists of Polish singer-songwriter Inga Habiba and American music producer and multi-instrumentalist Peter Guellard.
Production and Collaboration
The production of “Królowa Świata” began while Guellard was touring the United States East Coast as a technician for the band Clan of Xymox. Utilizing a portable recording rig, Guellard arranged the instrumentation around vocal tracks sent remotely by Habiba. The single features guest contributions from Clan of Xymox members; Guellard tracked initial guitars using frontman Ronny Moorings’ Rickenbacker guitar, while bassist Mario Usai recorded the song’s driving bassline in Guellard’s hotel room.
Upon returning to his home studio, Guellard finalized the mix by pairing Habiba’s updated vocal takes with trance-inspired synthesizer sequences to build dynamic tension throughout the track.
Thematic Elements and Music Video
Lyrically, the song explores themes of emotional vulnerability, self-healing, and the defense mechanisms built against heartbreak, written as an internal monologue styled in the second person. The single is accompanied by a self-produced music video that follows a narrative centering on two benevolent, non-possessive vampires who assist guarded individuals in learning to trust and embrace vulnerability.
“Królowa Świata” is currently available for streaming and purchase on major digital music outlets, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube.
