Nouvelle Vague Announce 2027 Worldwide Tour and New Album ‘A Date With Depeche Mode’

The French bossa nova project Nouvelle Vague has announced a worldwide tour for 2027 to celebrate the release of their upcoming studio album, A Date With Depeche Mode. The announcement was made by promoter AGMP, with tickets for the tour dates going on sale immediately.

An Evolving Collaborative Project

Founded by musician, composer, and producer Marc Collin alongside the late Olivier Libaux, Nouvelle Vague has built a reputation for reinterpreting classic new wave and post-punk tracks through a bossa nova lens. Over the years, the group has utilized a rotating cast of female vocalists to front their recordings and live performances. Notable contributors to the project’s history include Camille, Élodie Frégé, Mélanie Pain, and Phoebe Killdeer, as well as guest performances from high-profile artists such as Juliette Lewis and Vanessa Paradis.

Historical Context and Discography

Nouvelle Vague first gained international prominence with their self-titled debut album in 2004, followed by Bande à Part in 2006. Both records established the group’s signature style of translating melancholic synth-pop and punk essentials into acoustic arrangements. Their third album, NV3, released in 2009, featured collaborations with original new wave pioneers, including Martin Gore of Depeche Mode, Ian McCulloch of Echo & the Bunnymen, Terry Hall of The Specials, and multi-instrumentalist Barry Adamson.

The upcoming 2027 tour and accompanying album, A Date With Depeche Mode, represent the next chapter for the long-running collective as they focus their signature sound on the catalog of the electronic music pioneers.
