The Ändå Releases New Single “LIFE!”

The multinational alternative pop collective The Ändå has officially announced the release of their new single, titled “LIFE!” The release marks a significant transition for the collaborative project, introducing Spanish-based vocalist and songwriter Troubariz as the group’s newest member.

A Global Collaborative History

The Ändå was originally formed in Kerala, India, in 2017 following an meeting between Swedish synth-pop musician Captain Gasleben and Swedish novelist Zac O’Yeah. Both founding members have a history in the Swedish electronic music scene, notably collaborating with the 1980s synth-pop group Twice a Man, as well as projects such as Cosmic Overdose and Beehive Plains. Captain Gasleben currently operates from Gothenburg, Sweden, while O’Yeah is based in South India.

Introducing Troubariz

The addition of Troubariz brings a new vocal dimension to the group’s alternative pop sound. Troubariz has a long history in independent music, having co-founded the Swedish group Anna Själv Tredje in the early 1970s. Since then, her work has primarily focused on psychedelic folk, specifically Celtic and Provençal styles, as well as the study of medieval French troubadour poetry. She currently resides in Valencia, Spain.

Environmental and Distribution Philosophy

The Ändå operates under a strict “no-touring, no live-gigs” policy designed to maintain a zero-level carbon footprint. As a result, the band focuses entirely on studio recordings and digital distribution. The new single, “LIFE!”, is now available across major digital streaming platforms, including Bandcamp, Spotify, and YouTube Music, alongside an accompanying official music video.
